Details:
In his second album, The Perpetual Sounds of Motion, Andrew Rosborough combines the elements of jazz, R&B, acoustic rock and country/folk music to produce an original sound that has been compared to the likes of Cat Stevens, Rob Thomas and Steely Dan.
Originally from the small factory town of Kokomo, Indiana, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter has music in his genes. His parents, both musicians as well, own the full-line retail music store âSound of Music.â By the age of 14, Andrew had traveled the Midwest with his parentsâ various gospel projects. With a wide range of musical instruments at his disposal, Andrew has become an experienced musician on more than just guitar, also playing piano, bass, mandolin, trumpet and harmonica.
Armed with a strong musical background, Andrew continued to branch out, leaving Indiana to study both music and English literature at the University of North Texas. He returned to the Midwest and continued his studies at Indiana University, where he was able to refine his eclectic style of songwriting. While at IU, Andrew crafted his debut release, the self-titled EP, Andrew Rosborough.
Shortly after college, Andrew moved to Nashville, where he explored the recording and songwriting industry that has defined generations of country music through and apprenticeship under the tutelage of Broken Bow Records/Legends Studio in the historic Berry Hill District. While residing Nashville, he frequently performed at the Gibson Theatre and the legendary Bluebird Café, in addition to scores of other songwriting venues.
Following his stint in Nashville, Andrew moved to Hollywood, where he studied the crafts of songwriting and guitar with Justin Derrico (lead guitar player for âThe Callingâ) at the Musicianâs Institute of Technology.
Together with writing partner and co-producer Matt Burmeister, Andrew is currently producing his third album at Pogo Studios in Champaign, Illinois with engineer Mark Ruebel, whose client list includes Adrian Belew, Allison Krause, Jay Bennet of âWilcoâ and countless others. The album is slated for release in September.
Andrew currently lives in central Indiana, where he continues to write, perform and teach.
