Hello,
I am BB CANE, songwriter, vocalist and guitarist and this is my second CD released with BC BAND. Our band is located in Tucson, Arizona and consists of me BB CANE, NOVA CANE on vocals, percussion, dance and keyboards, SUGA CANE on lead guitar, vocals and keyboards, and CANDY CANE on keyboards, vocals, dance and percussion.
ABOUT BB CANE: I am 48 years old, Back in the late 1960's, my uncle John came back from Viet Nam and taught me "Down on the corner" by Creedence Clearwater Revival, on an old Harmony acoustic guitar (As I remember, the strings on my first guitar were way up high from the neck because the neck was warped). I played that old Harmony guitar til my fingertips became rock hard and til there was nothing left of the old Harmony guitar. After uncle John taught me a few songs, I took over from there and taught myself to play and to learn songs by ear. I do not read music and I am not interested in learning to read music.
I grew up listening to and learning how to play, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Patsy Cline, George Jones, Elvis, The Beatles, Sam Cooke, Buddy Holly, Hendrix, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Stevie Rae, Skynnard, ZZ Top, Zepplin, Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jim Croce, Chuck Berry, Tu Pac and many other artists. I have always enjoyed listening to and learning all types of music including Rap, which my sons forced me to listen to while they were parked in the driveway with their boomin systems.
I wrote my first song at age 12 and have been writing ever since. I love to tell a story, true stories as well as flat out lies. I love to make people think, not think, laugh, cry, love and sing. My most favorite concert I ever performed was at a campground in northeastern Iowa. I started playing my guitar by my tent, and a fellow camper asked if I would come over and play and sing at his campsite. There were 20 or so people there, I must have played for 3 hours, around a fire, playing my own songs and sing along cover tunes. Everyone was singing along, they even tried to fake the words to some of my songs. After the forest ranger came around at 10pm and said "parties over", we all dispersed, and the man who had originally asked me to come and perform at his campsite, said "I have been to countless concerts, I have seen the best, and tonight is the very best performance I have ever seen, thank you so much".
That compliment will glorify me til my last breath, and may never be topped. That was over 20 years ago. I would like to think, like fine wine I have aged well, and my performance is like fine wine, or at least a cheap bottle of white port.
You should be able to tell in my vocals, that I really love what I do.
Please enjoy my cd's and look forward to more new releases soon. You can read more about me and my band at bbcane.com
Sincerely,
BB CANE
