Burnt Fur turn on new wave with their love of guitars and video games, creating snarling electronic music with the bite of a full band.
3 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Dance, ROCK: Goth
Details:
Burnt Fur started out in the summer of 2003 when Scott Harrison and Patrik Tirda decided to cover the Madonna song âGamblerâ just for fun. Using a drum machine, an old keyboard and a guitar, the end result was a campy, sonic swirl of noise sounding more like Ciccone Youth than the pop original. They considered this a success. Two years later the duo re-united with members Ian St. Germain and Shana Slater from previous bands they had shared and set out to create fun, electronic music that people could dance to. The band shares influences from a background in experimental guitar bands and industrial music of the late '80's and early '90's, then builds their songs from their love of the best new wave bands.
Amidst the fun of performing cover songs a strong set of original songs were taking shape. Their first single "Vitriol" is a mash of electronics, guitars, and lyrics filled with equal parts of anger and apathy. Two cover songs were selected for b-sides, New Order's "Ultraviolence" and The Human League's "Seconds." A full length release is planned for summer 2007, as well as a handful of shows in the New England area.
