THE CORE is comprised of five classmates from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, MBA class of 2007. It began as a cover band designed to unite the Kelley community and serve as a nucleus for extreme stress-release and group irreverence. In short order, the band went from playing house parties to headlining gigs at the Bluebird, Bloomington, Indiana's best live music establishment.

While juggling rehearsals for its regular performances and an intense academic schedule THE CORE began writing original tunes in January of 2007. The group was finally able to free up some time in April and May to get into the recording studio. Caught in Between represents all the heart, soul and creative output of THE CORE during this brief and extremely time constrained period.

The band was originally named after a four month, boot camp-like academic experience known as the Kelley Integrated Core. In the midst of inadequate sleep and extraordinary stress, tight bonds were forged among all students and the perfect impetus for the musical response that became THE CORE was born.

With five distinct personalities from different parts of the world with remarkably disparate musical tastes, THE CORE came to be known as the creative center that linked the five band members.
