Three years ago, Joe Henschel and Rudy Perkins formed Farewell Down, a San Diego based band with undeniable love for the Lord and committed drive. Starting out as a worship band for their local church, they began to feel the Lord prodding them to branch out, travel, and share His love to all who would have them. Taking one step forward, they joined Worship Generation in 2004. Their journey had begun. Playing over 150 shows in two years, Farewell Down has successfully been labeled an âIndependentâ band. Their first full-length album, released April 2006, has already sold over 2500 copies independently and is still continuing to grow. âParachutes and Skies,â the new EP by Farewell Down, will be released independently May 2007 in an array of places across the US including Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, and Spirit West Coast in Southern California. âThe passion of Farewell Down is to minister to whomever will listen to our music, Christian or non-Christian, religious or not,â says Henschel. âWe want people to enjoy the words we have written and the melodies we have created."
