Flash Grenade is an independent rock band from the Baltimore-Philly region. They have been a band since the summer of 2004 and have just released their second full length independent album on June 18th, 2007. Flash Grenade independently toured last summer from North New Jersey to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and over to West Virginia. It was an incredibly successful experience; (the last show in Myrtle Beach was performed at an outdoor bar. They were not paid by the bar, but still sold a thousand dollars worth of merchandise during the two hour set.)

In May of 2006, Flash Grenade won second place out in the "Concerts First Exposure Live Battle of the Bands" (a battle at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia with more than fifty competing bands). They are also a three-time winner of the Cambridge Battle of the Bands and the recipient of a "First Place" as well as a "People's Choice" award from the Sunstock Battle of the Bands. They've also been on the front cover of JUMP START magazine featured in the CECIL WHIG on October 21, 2005.
The three members have an amazing friendship which resonates through their music and stage presence. This stage presence is one that has earned them so much of their sudden renoun. Typically, Josh (on guitar) and Chris (on bass and backup vocals) entertain in the front, while the unconventional front man, Matt, amazes the audience by singing his vocals with power and perfection while laying down diverse drum beats.

In 2005, Flash Grenade released their professionally recorded, 50 minute debut album "Fifteen Stories", complete with lyrics in a 12-page full-color booklet, totaling over 15,000 dollars worth of work. The investment has already turned itself over by selling over 800 copies in a yearâs time of modest touring. Their music has also reached multiple states via the radio waves. Flash Grenade's first single "Yours Truly" has been played on the radio on stations in Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The group co-hosted 93.7âs âHometown Heroesâ on June 17th 2007 to promote their new record.

By mixing some of their favorite bands like Green Day, The Living End, Sum 41, Blink 182, Bouncing Souls, Goldfinger, Lit, and MXPX with the classics they grew up to like The Beatles, the Beach Boys and Queen; Flash Grenade has managed to produce an original sound that perfectly blends punk, rock-and-roll, and the classics from the 50's. With their unique sound and image, Flash Grenade has certainly come far since 2004 and certainly sees no reason to stop any time soon.
