Jim Hendren and Susan Murray are brother and sister and have been writing & performing music for over 25 years. Mr. Hendren was a founding member, songwriter and guitarist for In Cold Blood from 1987-1994. Ms. Murray was a founding member, songwriter and lead vocalist for Tribes of the Moon from 1991-1997. Jim Hendren joined forces with Tribes of the Moon playing bass and performing with the band from 1994-1997. The two songwriters have joined forces once again on a new album as well as performing regularly together.

These all original songs were written and recorded in the Winter and Spring of 2006/2007 and show an equal collaboration that is rich in the many influences both artists bring into their work. The explosive self analytical material that came from their earlier projects have now found an optimistic strength and balance in songwriting.

The secret to Family Albumâs success can be attributed to the perfect combination of strong melody, introspective lyrics and original music. Jim Hendren and Susan Murray hit the mark on their latest release and have cultivated a unique sound over years of working together, Family Album is a refreshing blend of old and new influences which produce a unique sound that is all their own.

The vocals transcend and at times go inside the music. Jim Hendren has interwoven an exciting mix of catchy guitar lines, haunting music with a driving rhythm. Susan Murray shines on this album both vocally and lyrically. Songs âShadows Have The Dayâ, âDarling Boyâ, and "Restless Hero" are further examples of her strength in songwriting and craft as a lyricist. "Repetitive Strain" and "A Backwards Man" reveal yet another side and highlight a depth of artistic vision.
