Laroz, who returned from N.Y. in 1983 then influenced by hip hop grooves, was one of the first musicians to create electronic music in Israel, while at the same time he played bass guitar in Israeli pop-rock productions and preformed with the top bands.

In the early 90âs Laroz ventured into goa-trance music which became extremely popular in the mid 90âs but back then was virtually unknown; at the same time he started an act named âbikiniâ which was the first act who used electronic sounds and vocals in the pop-rock market.
Their album was an attempt to create a new Israeli sound, very different from the usual pattern, which relied heavily on guitars and other acoustic instruments.

Following the release of this album, Laroz moved away from pop rock and focused entirely on electronic sounds, abandoning guitars and vocals altogether. In 94 he established the âeqâsâ with his associate from the goa-trance period â Tal Ekheizer.
They were experimenting with the idea of doing Israeli trip hop, drum & bass and chill-out. One of the tracks from this album was licensed to the compilation âfeed your head 4â released by Planet Dog Records.

The drum & bass scene started in Israel at 1996 and Laroz was already at his next phase.
In his next album, "The Rose", Laroz was in charge of everything: writing, production, mix & mastering - expressing Larozâs fascination with dub, jazz and trip-hop through sounds in a down tempo and a chilled groove. Avex released "The Rose" last year in Japanâ¦

Following the well received debut solo album, Laroz turned further to "his roots" with âAll Strarsâ an outstanding production of reggae/dub, the one form of reggae that has managed to withstand the tide of change and keep its audience following the dub sound systems.
Larozâs inspiration from Jamaican/hip hop and dub artists that performed in Dinamo Dvash Israelâs premiere underground electronic music club, brought him away from the down-tempo and chilled groove productions and naturally lead him to reggae/dub. Reggae/dub that has created itself from tiny pieces of Reggae that has exploded and comprised modern day ska, dancehall and dub poetry all coming together to mean sweet music.

Laroz recorded these artists in his own studio, producing in a wide range of productions alongside some of the biggest names of this unique music genreâs roster, from Jamaican Dub poets, percussion artists, Hip hop MCâs and various dub artistsâ¦such as Ras Malakot, TY, Dayjah â¦the saxsonâs and others.....

Laroz is a reputable producer, composer and bassist; he has collaborated with a number of Israel's leading artists and latter on did remix for the petshopeboyâs . laroz finished an exceptional concept album for the emerging Mediterranean Diva - Zehava Ben. A blend of down-tempo easy listening productions coalescing Zehava's phenomenal voice and soulful interpretation.
