MartynTravis has been writing and performing his songs since the early 80's. He is a prolific songwriter whose songs reflect personal experience. The songs are lyrically stirring, full of infectious hooks and well crafted melodies. In true "Travis" style they deal with issues such as affairs of the heart and political and environmental concerns. Martyn grew up in Waterford Ireland and was initially influenced by Folk and Trad, as reflected in his earlier work. He wrote and performed many songs about living in rural Ireland and working as a Fisherman. In 1986 he released the album "Walk a Path", whilst living in Amsterdam and working with Dutch multi instrumentalist Siard de Jong. He spent many years on the road and as time progressed developed a more contemporary style. The music could now be described as a rhythmic fusion of folk and rock. Martyn has toured extensively in the USA, Europe and the UK.
