Details:
"autumnâ¦" features 11 lyrical originals and a lovely setting of Irish harper Turlough OCarolan's immortal planxty "Hugh Drummond" (played on a rare instrument, the 10-stringed Swedish hummel). Moods range from the Hawaiian slack key guitar-inspired "While You Were Sleeping" to a waltz for a avian companion to the meditative "Boreal."

Originally released in 1996 "autumnâ¦" showcased a brand new musical instrument: the MIDI dulcimer, along with the acoustic guitar. The MIDI dulcimer allowed Mark to improvise flowing musical lines and harmonies over an ever shifting musical ground. Only recently back in print, now you can hear this ground-breaking contemplative music for yourself.

In the early 1970's Mark was one of a handful of free-spirited musicians who created a whole new vocabulary for the Appalachian dulcimer. He created a driving flatpicking style, playing the dulcimer with a force and passion seldom heard before. This led to a first place win at the National Mountain Dulcimer Championships in Winfield, Kansas in 1979, appearances at festivals, colleges and coffeehouses across North America and Europe, and a recording career spanning over 20 years.

Mark and legendary Hawaiian musician Keola Beamer host the Aloha Music Camp, a week long immersion into the music and culture of Hawaii. His most recent CDs include "The Water is Wide" and "Old Time Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar."
