Pound 4 Pound was formed in 2006. I had been working on another project at the time with two musicians. The two musicians had other pressing commitments and could not continue working with me. At that point I focused my attention on a solo project and asked musicians that had used my studio if they would be interested in playing on a few of the songs that I had written.

The new group of musicians were Mark Stevens and Steve Felerski from the band Ballbreaker, and John Bovee from Easy Money. We held our first rehearsal and found an immediate chemistry. John with his steady big sound and Mark and Steve with their professional rock guitarist styles, together formed a great team. We made the decision to work on the project as a band, the result is this CD.

The music that we worked on was straight, solid, rock and roll. At this point in my music career that is where my interest is focused. John, Mark, and Steve all contributed significantly to the bare essentials of the music that I had presented for recording. John and Steve also contributed two original songs. January Sunrise and Johnâs Money To Burn songs are the epitome of rock and roll.

We are all currently involved in other projects so this recording may remain a studio only project. One never knows what the future holds. Only time will tell.
