redrobot is named after an obscure Soviet built weapon prototype that was hoped to be considered a âkilling machine.â It was tested mostly in parts of China in the late 1940âs and early 50âs. It later became more widely known as [translated from a Chinese dialect] âa useless piece of crap,â as all the machine could do was ârough people up a bit,â and later when modified, âmake a mean cappuccino.â In the Seventies, special transistors from the redrobot were implemented into a perhaps more obscure musical instrument of the same name. It was said to sound like, âa million spoiled children at Christmas time in a 15x15 toy store somewhere on Long Island crying about the out of stock nature of the latest and greatest useless toy which will someday invariably be refusing to decompose in a junkyard in Jersey as itâs made out of a space age plastic that will outlast all organic material on this planet.â This is a rave review for sure and one of the main inspirations for the band redrobotâs music. If you can picture that description, translate it into some kind of auditory brain data and then hum along and stomp your feet, you can love redrobot as millions if not hundreds of people do.
You now know the essence of redrobot [also available in a wonderful new scent exclusively at finer fragrance counters not near you]. Proceed with extreme prejudice as most of us do.

Reviewing songs can be such a pleasure when you stumble upon a band which you would genuinely love to have in your CD collection or see live. Brooklyn's Red Robot are one such band.
Their brand of indie-rock is delivered with gusto, with a sense of humour, and with more talent than most popular bands within the genre. If there is any justice in the world, Red Robot will become huge, and rightfully overshadow the indie-rock crap that lurks in the charts nowadays. With soaring choruses, great vocals and a rock 'n' roll edge, these four tracks really are quality stuff.
The quite frankly anthemic Puke Remains is the stand-out track here, demonstrating a high level of sophistication in songwriting and production, worthy of multiple radio plays and chart success.
Your Song is also a winner, it's rich harmonies and subtle melody building to a glorious crescendo.
Overall, this is highly recommended listening. A rose among many MySpace thorns, Red Robot surpass their peers with ease.
