Details:
Growing up as the son of Army Chaplain, Nathan Schnorrenberg was born in England and has lived in Germany and all over the U.S. Hence, his music reflects a sense of traveling, openness, and new beginnings. Nathan started writing and playing music at a very young age. By the age of fifteen, he was writing poetry and writing songs.
Nathan recorded and released his debut album, Reconstructed, in the summer of 1999. Recorded in the McGath mansion overlooking the golden plains of the Midwest, Reconstructed aches like a wounded heart and rides the waves of prairie grass and western charm. Backed by an acoustic guitar and an honest voice, these stark, but full recordings capture Nathan at his most intimate.
His latest album, Change, was just released by ThinKing Entertainment (2002), and it promises to be every bit as good as the first one. Change picks up where Reconstructed left off, only this time Nathan tastefully adds some percussion, piano, organ, and even mandolin on one song. This is an album for a drive in the country with the windows rolled down - Gentle music with challenging lyrics and relevant stories.
On both of these records, Nathan tells stories from and about his life in uncompromising poetry. He writes about what it's like to be alone, to be in love, to be searching for God, and to be filled with hope. These are story songs, if you will, with subtle, moral truths woven into the melodies. Nathan's music harkens back to the days when singer/songwriters flooded the airwaves. He grew up listening to his Dad's old records from the 60's and 70's, and this is clearly seen in his folky, poetic style. This is music for the intellectual, for the analytical mind who yearns to dig deeper than the surface.
Enjoy.
