The ensemble, founded in 1997, consists of musicians from the INNviertel (one of the four regions in Upper Austria). All of them are engaged with famous Austrian and Bavarian orchestras and ensembles as, for example, the Brucknerorchester Linz, Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg, Camerata Salzburg, Stadttheater Passau... or are teaching at the Anton-Bruckner-University Linz. The ensemble, consisting of trumpets, french horns, tromobones, tuba and percussion is offering music with open frontiers, in a wide range from classical music to jazz and contemporary music. The pieces they play are almost exclusively arranged and composed by the members of the groups, and are documented on 4 CD's (Mondial, Mead-Inn-Brass, Pictures in Brass, Brassin' Mozart). Their concert tours have taken them through Austria, Germany, Italy, China, Korea and Australia. Virtuosity and a sense of humour, musicality and precision in combination with the purity of typical Austrian brass-sound mark the concerts of the ensemble SoundINNBrass.
