These tunes are somewhat off the beaten track, and include several styles from jazz-pop instrumentals to lyrical slow vocals with modal changes. The title track "Walk the Planet!" is a funky, upbeat environmental call to action which insists that you "get out of your car, or we won't get too far." Then you've got quirky stuff like "Be My Rabbit," a big band arrangement of a chase scene on rollerblades, and "Hiccupping Man," about drinking and the devil, but tastefully done. There are hard-charging, fast instrumentals ("You Win, My Love", "Kajeva") and fast pop-rock vocals ("What If", "I Can Tell"), and on the medium tempo side the jazz-funk instrumentals "Luck Swallows Everything" "Highlight" and âCamel Walk.â If you're more into traditional-sounding jazz you might like "Kaz's Stroll" with Mark Kazanoff on sax, and he's also featured on a crazy little thing called "Kaz's Jump." For a slower and thoughtful mood, the jazz-blues vocals "Mountain Stream," "Can't Get Free" and âRest You Easyâ might do the trick.
