David Black was born in 1978 in Bangor, North Wales and began playing the guitar at the age of 10. In 2000 he graduated with first Class Honours from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and in 2004 he completed an MMus at the Royal College of Music, London -- studying guitar with Gary Ryan and lute with Jakob Lindberg.

Since college, David has been busy performing a wide range of music on guitar, lute and electric guitar. Performances include the Vivaldi double guitar concerto with the Orchestra of St John Smithâs Square; the Concierto des Aranjuez at the Ulster Hall, Belfast; a featured concert at the Dundee Guitar Festival and 2nd prize at the International Guitar Competition there.

David's recent concerts include performances with the Albach duo in Germany, with the contemporary music group ârarescaleâ in San Francisco (Old First Concerts), and at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.


Rebecca Baulch was born in 1978 in London and began playing the guitar when she was 6, taught by her parents. Rebecca then studied at the Purcell School of Music where she was a scholar under the Music and Ballet Schools scheme, and at the Royal College of Music where she was a Foundation Scholar.

Rebeccaâs career has taken her to concert halls and festivals all over the world, including the Wigmore Hall, The Purcell Room, St Georgeâs Bristol, festivals in New York, Oregon, Italy, France, Germany and Hungary, and she has appeared on BBC1, BBC3, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

Rebecca teaches at Blackheath Conservatoire and Trinity College Junior Department. She is also a member of the Appassionata Guitar Trio with Hayley Savage and Amanda Cook, and has recorded two CDs with the trio: Let Go (BGS 111) and Watersmeet (Cadenza Music CACD 0603)
