Gift Shopâs second CD "Always Everywhere" features 11 songs designed to stick in your head and stay there. Homemade in a dusty basement in Brooklyn, New York, the CD was crafted over 3 years with the aid of a grumpy, old iMac called âThe Muthaship.â Catchy melodies, solid rhythms and anthemic changes set the backdrop for songs about Elian Gonzales levitating, the mystery of the double helix, life on auto-pilot, the mind of a newborn, feeling your way in the dark, war, birth, love, death and the foibles of a particularly grating U.S. President.

Gift Shop has been performing together at clubs around New York City for 10 years. Their music is fermented in ancient casks of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Van Halen, soaked in baths of Rush, Elvis Costello, XTC, and seasoned with some fresh sprigs of Wilco, Guided by Voices and the Foo Fighters. Their live performances are sweaty, silly, solid and powerful, the result of 4 good friends who enjoy playing music together.

Gift Shop released their first CD "Fuller" in February 2001. Internet retailer Kool Kat Musik praised the CD's "excellent songwriting, vocals and arrangements." In November 2002, their song "Stargazing, Again" won the weekly national song contest on MakeaStar.com. Their song "Just Say Goodbye" was the featured Pop/Rock track of the day on Garageband.com in Fall 2001. In January 2002, the song reached no. 1 on the website's Pop/Rock charts. The track "Chemical Reaction" appeared in the film 'Sex and Violence', which premiered at the NY International Independent Film & Video Festival in February 2002. Their songs have been included on both the OasisRock and the Best of MakeaStar compilation CD's. The band's version of "Give Me Another Chance" on A Tribute to Big Star (LunaSea Records) received airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and was featured by CMJ in its review of the CD in its March/April 2002 issue. Most recently the band contributed tracks to the film "New York Idle."
