The last Ancient Spruce of the forest faces destruction at the hands of the local town folk who are looking for a tall tree to decorate their town square for the holidays. With the help of his friend Chris Moose and the rest of the forest creatures, the Ancient Spruce forges a plan to save himself by inviting the town's people to come into the forest and celebrate the season at his first Annual Christmas Snow Ball . Santa and the Ancient Spruce together give a gift of a pot and Spruce seedling to each villager creating a new bond between people and nature.
