Men in Blues are reinventing the genre for a modern audience.
By combining modern blues with a groove-based dynamic,
They create a powerful fusion of blues and rock with a touch of soul.
With soaring vocalist and guitarist Mike Beale up front and a truly dazzling rhythm section comprising Marty Knight (bass) and Andy Engwirda (drums) they are sliding, grooving and infusing their way into the worlds of audiences everywhere.

Starting in late 2003, vocalist guitarist Mike Beale rediscovered his true passion, a love of groove based blues/rock and roots music. A procession of various players and gigs came and went until the discovery of drummer Andy Engwirda at a gig on the Gold Coast Australia in mid 2005. Sept 2006 saw Marty Knight join and once together then began the process of musical fusion.

"We take the traditional blues style and twist it, finding a groove and keeping the music up" "There's been a huge resurgence in blues/rock/roots style music, people want to hear real people playing real music" adds Mike.

Embarking on a busy year of gigging has seen the band raise their local profile culminating in their recent appearance at the "Australian Blues Festival" this past Feb 2007.

A song off last years debut EP "Drinking Overnight" Lost was released overseas and reached number one on the french radio station midnight blues.

But its the new full length studio album that everyone was waiting for !

Battered and Bruised was released at the Blues on Broadbeach festival Gold Coast to an overwhleming response.

Highlighting Beales powerful soulful vocals with strong song writing and Engwirda and Knights relentless rock solid grooves this new cd comes one step closer to capturing this bands unique and dynamic approach to playing the blues.

The band will be touring extensively to launch and support the new cd in Sept/October 2007.
