Details:
Promonium Jesters were formed in April 1994 by school friends Greg Cox and Ethan Moseley in Uxbridge Ontario. Right from the start the emphasis was on experimentation rather than traditional songwriting, and the band quickly found itself somewhere in the tradition of industrial music. Anything that made sound was a viable instrument, and before long the group was heavily into computers, which offered unlimited potential for sound manipulation. Over the years, the lineup has expanded to include Rob Moseley, Dereck Mathers, Tyler Noble, and Dave Miller, and caused the band to evolve into a more rock oriented style. Using guitars, synthesizers, drum machines, and many computers, Promonium Jesters have developed a sound that can be brutal yet danceble, or sombre and alien. As a compliment to the strange music being produced, the band has put a heavy emphasis on the visual component of the live show, utilizing ample fog and lighting effects, as well as films edited by the band shown on multiple projectors. The band has been performing live since 1995, and has shared the stage with a variety of acts including Merzbow, Knurl, Schizoid, Nanochrist, and on one bizarre occasion, Three Days Grace. Promonium Jesters are currently finishing their 10th self released album titled "Your Face", as well as planning a cross Canada tour for the end of summer 2007.
QUOTES
Promonium Jesters played a malevolent set that sounded like Skinny Puppyâ¨covering early Pink Floyd. Very cool. - Nanochrist
The Promonium Jesters make aggressive electronic music, combined with heavy guitar sounds, distorted vocals and strange samples.
Rivetheads will be pleased by the fast and dynamic electro tracks, and at the same time the band shows not too be afraid of taking risks, by including a few more experimental pieces. - Funprox Webzine
