Details:
Matthew grew up with his mother singing folk tunes on an old nylon string guitar in smalltown Mississippi so it seemed only natural to later pick up the instrument himself. It didn't take long before he fell in love with writing songs - a craft that he loves to pursue, " It is really a constant seeking of the song. Always plenty of room to grow and create, always deeper to dig."

Matthew's love for the guitar is melded perfectly into his lyrically driven songs. His acoustic folk songwriting is both thoughtful and warming with its wit, and always leaves more to be discovered with each listen. He has been compared to the likes of Lyle Lovett, Paul Simon, and David Wilcox.

Some comments from a live performance:
"He sets up the songs and lets them carry their own weight- and they do. His guitar-man-ship was amazing. It was a pleasure to watch him play- it's obvious he loves his instrument. As for his vocals, I loved their ballad quality - his voice's ability of telling a story that is his, of wanting to share something he is observing and learning about life. Clark gave us good stylistic variety in lyrics and accompaniment, showing us something of his range of interests and ability- never overpowering us, but singing to us, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. "
N. Ellis, Mud Jug Coffee Cafe

"Having grown up in a small town, I love the intimacy and connection of the acoustic singer/songwriter. I want to be able to really sing to an audience something that would not only be worth hearing but worth listening to - something someone can be glad that they heard."
