I spent the last ten years writing songs, playing in bands, gigging, composing, recording, arranging and practicing, and more writing and playing...and then I suddenly found I had over 75 songs recorded and I hadn't released anything.

I don't know if I am the first artist with a debut release which is a "greatest hits" compilation, though here it is, whatever it is.

I'm very proud of all of these songs and all the musicians who played on the tracks. Playing in bands is a mix of heaven and hell (with some beer thrown in) and I'd like to thank everyone who was there with me joking around and playing all night. Here's to you!

Boulevard - this song is about the demise of my hometown which is rapidly being over-run by shopping malls, townhouses, overpasses and fast food restaurants. Mixed at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver.

Slow Suicide - also mixed at Greenhouse, this was written after a beautiful afternoon on the North Shore with my family...it doesn't have anything to do with suicide actually, I'll let you figure it out.

Flying Machine - inspired from listening to the music of Zufo and the White Martians, which has alot of space/sci-fi overtones.

High Song - this is my work theme song, driving around all day as a Vancouver courier. These next three songs were recorded in my apartment, my gear set up on the dining room table...if you listen carefully, you can hear birds and kids playing outside...

Wrecking Ball - ever have one of those stormy relationships where you just seem to fight all the time??

Surabaya - I wrote this in Indonesia, on holidays there for about 5 weeks.

O-li-li - another happy, life is good today song.

Candy Corn - originally this song was about Kurt Cobain and was very heavy and aggressive, though somehow it morphed into a song about a guy in love with a female rock star.

Everywhere I Go - well, I was hung up on two women at the same time...sorry, I didn't get either of them, just this song.

Prime Meridian - recorded at Glad Tidings Church in East Van on a full-size concert piano. The original version is 7:30 minutes long, I chopped it down for the cd, email me if you want the original.
