Details:
A native Tennessean from Murfreesboro, Rebecca graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she performed with the Rhodes College Singers throughout the Southeastern U.S. and the United Kingdom. Additional performance credits include opening for Mel Torme at the Johnny Mercer Festival in Savannah, GA, the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) Conference, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Sambuca Jazz Cafe, Borders Books and Music nationwide, University of North Texas, Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA, and St. Simons Island Jazz-in-the-Park Series. She has also enjoyed featured artist performing stints in Japan, England, and France, and most recently with pianist Mac Frampton and the Hollywood Hills Orchestra touring in concert venues throughout the U.S. Her commercial recording portfolio includes session work for Haverty's, Napa Auto Parts, and MCI as well as other Atlanta corporations.
An award-winning singer and gifted songwriter, Rebecca released her debut album of original music "To A Warmer Heart", in 2001 to much critical acclaim and laid the groundwork for her love of producing in the recording studio. She is a founding member and director of the South City Voices, a dynamic vocal jazz quartet which tours the country and is currently emerging onto the Atlanta music scene. Most recently Rebecca released a second CD, "Got Swing" - this time with the South City Voices- which she also co-produced.
An avid educator as well as performer, Rebecca combines a Master's Degree in Music with over 14 years of performance, recording, and teaching experience. She is proud of her private music students, many of whom have won scholarships, excelled in competitions and festivals, advanced to perform professionally, and received local and national awards, including recognition in Billboard magazine.
When not performing and teaching, Rebecca divides her time and passions among choral directing, arranging, writing, producing, and conducting music workshops.
