17 SONGS, 14 WOMEN, 1 GREAT CAUSE
The CD BEAUTIFUL, is being released in July 2007 by independent record label Red Coyote Records, which is owned by Joan Enguita. The CD differs from typical compilation CDs in that every song was professionally produced by the same studio, Nashville Tracks in Los Angeles. The instrument tracks were recorded by seasoned Nashville session musicians who perform and record with well known artists. It also features live strings and horns on some tracks. Musical arrangements and mixing are by Travis Allen at Nashville Tracks in L.A.
The CD features performances by fourteen independent female artist known collectively as WOMEN ON THE MOVE: Joan Enguita, Harriet Schock, Teresa James, Anna Montgomery, Debbie Hennessey, Kelly Zirbes, Julie Gribble, Linda Geleris, Evonne Rivera, Tracy Newman, Holly Jurgensen, Andrea Ross-Greene, Karen Hart and Trish Lester. Songs are in a variety of styles (pop, rock, blues, country,) and encompass various aspects of being a woman: following your dreams, love, breaking up, and leaving an abusive relationship.
All of the artists have released CDs or are in the recording process. Julie Gribble has been getting national attention after two appearances on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Anna Montgomery toured with and opened for Shelby Lynne and recently released her own second CD. She and Teresa James, Kelly Zirbes, Karen Hart, Debbie Hennessey, Evonne Rivera and Tracy Newman all perform in the Los Angeles area with their own band or group.
Harriet Schock is a Los Angeles icon, having recently scored several Henry Jaglom movies, has released six CDs, and teaches songwriting. She is a regular panelist on songwriting topics at conferences and performs regularly with her band.
Singer songwriters Joan Enguita, Linda Geleris, Andrea Ross-Greene, Trish Lester and Holly Jurgensen perform regularly in the Southern California area. Enguita has toured the U.S. West Coast and has performed in Europe as well. She hosts a quarterly showcase, Indie Diva Night, at Kulakâs Woodshed in North Hollywood and also hosts a house concert series in Lancaster, CA.
The CD project is co-sponsored by Nashville Tracks in L.A.
( www.NashvilleTracks.com ), Los Angeles Women in Music
( www.lawim.com ), Universal Mastering (www.umusic.com ), Kirkâs Graphics ( www.kirks-graphics.com ) and Disc Replicators International

A Southern California concert tour is planned featuring the women from the CD. A portion of the proceeds from performances and CD sales will go to domestic violence shelters.
Duplication costs, advertising, concert hall rentals, and artist travel are continuing expenses.
TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations toward this endeavor may be made through Los Angeles Women in Music (LAWIM), 11664 National Blvd, #280, Los Angeles, CA 90064.
We are interested in booking concerts in the Southern California area and raising funds for domestic violence shelters in those cities/towns where we perform.
