Details:
formed in 2000 by longtime friends and college freshman Nicholas Mendola and Steven Carveth. Added Bob Kiekbusch, Joe Hooley and Peter Jay in late 2000 with Mendola on vocals, Carveth and Hooley on guitar, Kiekbusch on bass and Jay on drums. Recorded the terrible "Against Shooting Stars EP," in August 2001 to mild attention at best. Carveth left the band in March of 2002 to be replaced by Nick Tardif, whose addition inspired and moved the band to making halfway decent music, or at least trying to. In August of 2002, clearmotive recorded "Words As Weapons," an EP which saw its release almost immediately. And by immediately, we mean six months later. The record gained airplay and helped listeners give the band a second chance. In March of 2003, Jay left the band to more thoroughly pursue his studies. He was replaced (physically), by Rob Ruffino a few days later and the band toured the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest in the summer of that year. With the October 23 release of "Is There A Market For This?"-recorded in late summer of 2003-clearmotive is excited and ready to bring the record to life.
