Juliet Morseby is a proud and independent young lady who has no intentions of marrying. She sees no reason to give up her comfortable life to be shackled to a spoiled and selfish lord. When a duel is threatened between her brothers and their longtime enemies, the Driscolls, Juliet finds herself married to the Viscount Robert Driscoll in order to preserve the peace. Now Juliet must find a way to dissolve this unwanted marriage to her family enemy and somehow prevent her brothers from fighting. For a resourceful lady, this task should not prove too difficult...except she had no idea that her new husband would be so irresistible...

"THE SCHEMING SPINSTER is very well written -- in spite of the potential for this particular conflict to descend into a repetitive argument, it never does. The author treats her characters with the respect they deserve. We never devalue Juliet's pride as she matures over the course of the story, because Ms. Deans does not let her behave foolishly and at heart we know that Juliet's concerns about a marriage that begins like this one are very legitimate indeed. Comic relief and loving touches are provided by the two characters' brothers and Juliet's father. Robert's mother gives a welcome helping hand. This is a very warm and welcome offering from a new talent. An intelligent Regency by a talented new author!"
