In the late 1970s, the Friedman family's brown Mercury station wagon was a fixture on the suburban roadways surrounding New York City. In the back seat, four burgeoning musicians sat, soaking in the sounds emanating from the 8-Track player and singing along to Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours", CSN&Y's "Déjà Vu" and The Beatles' "White Album." Today, the Friedman brothers - Matthew (vocals/bass/guitar), Daniel (vocals/guitar/bass), Evan (vocals/harmonica) and Cary (Drums) along with cousin Justin Rubin (lead guitar/vocals), life-long friend Brian Turner (keyboards), and veteran session player Claudia Chopek (violin) are The Friedman Brothers Band. Together, they are combining the best elements of the music of their youth with their original ideas to create a fresh yet familiar sound.

The FBB's members share musical roots and influences, but when it comes to songwriting, each of the band's five writers brings a distinct perspective and style to the table. The FBB's recently completed debut CD, Cut and Dry features seven original compositions. With hook-laden songs drenched in So-Cal harmonies and wrapped in seamless arrangements, The FBB guides its listeners on a melodic journey through Classic Rock, Alt-Country and Quasi-Funk while tackling subjects ranging from love and loss to fear and inspiration to politics and paranoia.
