During his elementary school years, Gabe performed in public for the first time with his older brother's Tejano band. After graduating from Bishop High School he attended college in Corpus Christi, Texas. By then he had his own band and played locally to help earn money for his Architectural Associates Degree. While attending college by day and performing by night, Gabe was discovered by Freddie Records. Several successful albums were released. In the years since, he has recorded with his band on several labels. He has recorded under Canela Records, Hacienda Records, Supremo Records, Cara Records, CBS International Records and Deep South Productions. In 2002 Gabe made the 45th Grammy Awards entry list in Tejano Music. In January of 2003, he decided to follow his heart and pursue the music that his earlier labels did not encourage him to do; an album that combines English and Spanish, Country with Tejano on every song of that album. For Gabe, Country is in his heart and Tejano in his blood. The two belong together. This is the essence of Gabe's music and his new Texas style music. He is doing what he lives and loves. What he is doing is worth the time you take to listen. You won't be disappointed. On August 31, 2003, Gabe won 1st place in the Colgate Country Showdown at the Fayette County-Country Fair-La Grange, Texas. On January 2004, he released two songs (Pachanga Girl & Loving You Too Much) off his new CD "CROSSING A NEW FRONTERA". Finally all the recordings are finished. The "Crossing A New Frontera" CD has a new concept.
