Contemporary electronic instrumental music for travel on the open roads. Drawing inspiration from Pat Methenys Lyle Mays, early Windham Hill and the beautiful serenity of Europe's early ECM releases.
10 MP3 Songs
NEW AGE: Ambient, JAZZ: Smooth Jazz
Details:
Music for this release was drawn out of the inspiration of traveling the wide open roads of the Southwestern and Northeastern US. Utilizing ambient music, sparse latin rhythmic motifs and synthetic orchestrations to create an atmosphere of music that beckons the open roads and the reflective memories of newly discovered places. Familiarities with music from the 1970s ECM artists such as Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny and Eberhard Weber with a little Mark Isham's Vapor Drawings era will come to mind. All composed on synthesizers!

Set this one in the car deck, put down the top, wait for just before sunset, and hit the road to bliss! Highly recommended! - Bill Binkleman, Wind and Wire

Earnest piano serves up some peppy tuneage laced with peripheral effects and snappy understated percussion. Additional keyboards embellish the melodies, generating a lively aspect to the thoughtful compositions. Some tracks explore sedate landscapes, lending sentimental riffs to endearing harmonics, to produce highly evocative sonic excursions that convey the listeners to environments of soft grandeur.
The counterpoint of classical piano with modern synthesizers creates a fusion of soul and technology. The tunes unfurl with comfortable ease, gingerly seducing the audience into a realm of earthbound melodies that exude sincere humanity. Kyryluk utilizes these relaxed tunes to produce a spiritual travelogue that journeys through terrain where lavish displays of nature are captured and codified into sonic arrangements of soothing disposition. This music conjures not only a plethora of majestic countryside, but smoothly duplicates the awe and delightful appreciation of those landscape spectacles.
Strings, serene bongos, romantic accordion, and delicate harpsichord strains inject engaging flavor to these charming compositions.
Reminiscent of ECM recordings, this release is an enjoyable addition to any EM enthusiastsâ collection.

I am always amazed how precise and structured Gregs music is, especially with Ephemeral Highways, which has piano, synths, percussion and sequences. You would think Greg hired a drummer to play on his music, but not at all, he uses no drum machines and programs all of his drum sounds through his synths, I said wow incredible.
On his new cd, is nothing like his other projects including Thought Guild which is very Berlin School. Personally I consider Ephemeral Highways not new age, not jazz, but electronic music from deep down far in ones soul.Highly recommended by a very avid and picky electronic music fan.

That is truly one of the best CDs I have heard is such a long time. When I got to my destination, I read the liner notes and realized that the music was inspired by your travels around the US. I was so amazed that you could translate those feelings into music because as I drove on this beautiful Spring day here in California, I completely felt that the music conveyed what I was seeing out the window! I believe that this is one of the best "driving" CDs in my collection, if not THE best.
"All Roads Lead Home" is one of the most beautiful, moving songs I've heard. Honestly, if my house was burning down, Ephemeral Highways would be one of the first things I'd grab on the way out! Greg, congratulations on producing a fantastic piece of work, you are an extremely talented artist!
By the way, that CD was the only one I played the whole day while in my car, I couldn't wait to start it over each time! Melodic compositions that reflect a personal side. This music has a taste of the Windham Hill releases.
