JASON ARNOLD AND THE STEPSIDERS, with a sound forged in timeless tradition, have steadily been gaining recognition as purveyors of true Texas dancehall music around their home base of Austin, Texas, as well as places far beyond.
A writer whose compositions often recall the glory days of barroom honky tonk (when the 4/4 shuffle was king), Jason had the good fortune to have one of his songs, "Just One More Time", recorded by the Cornell Hurd Band on their 2005 CD, "fanmail: from the lost planet". "That song has really gotten a lot of radio airplay in places where people are huge fans of traditional music, like the UK, the Netherlands, and Australia, and also on some cool independent shows in Texas and the U.S.," says Jason. "I'm extremely grateful to Cornell for including it on the CD."
Speaking of CDs, the Stepsiders' debut, "With Friends Like These" is a stellar showcase of just what this band is capable of. Hard country music fans, this is one you're gonna want.
