Paul Schimert lives in Buffalo, NY. He has worked at many vocations that range from being a deckhand on a sailing ship in his younger days to a door to door salesmen. He has spent time working in banks and in education. Currently he works as a Science Teacher and as a part time banker in upstate New York. Writing music is what he does when he doesn't have to get up and go to work to pay some bill that he can't even remember what it originally was for. The music of the Marley Higgins Band is meant to take the listener on a journey through all the aspects of life and have the stories told in a somewhat folk song way but not to exclude the blues, country, or classic rock. The music is meant to be played live with improvisation. It is Paul Schimert's belief that the performance of this music is in the hands of the perfomer. The drummer drums as the drummer wants too. The piano player plays as they see fit. The guitar players play without direct instruction from anyone but their own artistic intuition. And Paul hopes he doesn't forget the words.
