As a teenager growing up in Baltimore, MD, Monica Ott mentioned to her parents that she wanted a guitar for her 14th birthday. Ever since receiving that special gift, Monica has been on a musical journey to create something truly original for the rest of the world to hear. Writing, singing and playing guitar throughout highschool and college, she has evolved as an artist by combining many of her influences into a style all her own. Whether it be rock, pop, folk, or even world music, Monica finds a way to incoporate many different musical genres into the perfect balance of something new and unrecognizeable. After graduating from Muhlenberg college, Monica moved to the NYC area to pursue her music career but felt discouraged being one of thousands trying to make it in the business with no direction. Knowing she needed an edge, Monica sought out music producer Alex Houton of Wu Shu Entertainment Group to help make her original sound come to life. His efforts along with one of NYC's top vocal coaches, Tina Shafer (Vanessa Carlton) has made Monicaâs brand new EP âSome Things Unknownâ a truly memorable creation.
