Details:
What would you get if you put Chris Cornell, Slash, Flea and Keith Moon in the same band? Besides a hefty bar tab, maybe something like Saskatoon's One Bad Son, who are about to take over your living room.

The One Bad Son story started in late 2004 when the band formed, and then were signed to American indie label Versailles Records a mere two months later, based on their promising demo. Since then, the band has recorded and released two fully distributed albums across North America garnering solid reviews, embarked on several successful Western Canadian tours, received solid airplay on rock stations from Saskatoon to Van, and won a $10,000 recording grant for their sophomore releaseâ¦all in a short two years.

The brand new 10 track album, Orange City, was recorded in Saskatoon, mixed in Edmonton at Powersound Studios (Tea Party, Econoline Crush), and mastered in Toronto at Metalworks Studios (Billy Talent, Our Lady Peace). The album is full of angst, edge, and sweat, but most importantly, great songwriting. Literally two months after releasing their debut album, This Aggression Will Not Stand, the band was awarded a $10,000 grant to record an album from their local rock station â a new album of all new material. The catch: the new songs had to be submitted in 3 months. But no pressure.

The boys headed straight to the jam room - which wasnât far as they all live in the same house - and started writing the songs that would become part of Orange City. The result: some of the most original, anthemic, high-energy rock and roll to come out of this country in a long time. And it belongs on rock radio, as evidenced by the reception the album has received from DJs across the country, who have compared them to everything from Alice in Chains to Zeppelin to âthe next G ânâ Râ. The mix of ripping guitars, hyperactive drums, and one of the most distinct and powerful voices to come along in rock in years, has created an instant attraction from listeners to the new tunes.

Now the band will take this material, along with their non-stop work ethics, massive micro-marketing abilities, and endless tour schedule, and bring their music to the next level throughout Canada and the U.S.

Here are some other highlights for the band:

- both albums given full-service distribution throughout North America through Big Daddy Distribution (George Clinton's distributor man!)

- debut album release listed on MTV.com's list of hot releases for the month of May/06, after the band sent out their new material to various media outlets and played several shows in Canada & the U.S. (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1529374/20060424/rihanna.jhtml?headlines=true)

- in the summer of â06, the bandâs debut single 'Alive in Texas' began to get heavy rotation on Saskatoonâs Rock 102, becoming "easily the most requested song on Rock 102 at the momentâ¦these guys have become the giants of the Saskatoon rock scene" (Derek Watson, Program Director, Rock 102)â¦soon after major stations in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver followed suit

- the bandâs sound has been described as: "Appetite for Destruction meets Houses of the Holy" (Exclaim! Magazine, June/06)

- album received glowing reviews in the Sept/06 edition of Metal Edge, calling the debut âa sign of serious potentialâ

- currently looking into management & legal representation (despite the fact that Kurt has a Law degree)

- unreleased new songs given enthusiastic thumbs up from Montreal radio station/online zine www.rockandrollreport.com, calling 'Sun/Fire' an "instant classic" (Jan/07)

- the new album, Orange City, was mixed at Powersound Studios (Tea Party, Econoline Crush) in Edmonton, and mastered by Nick Blagona at Toronto's Metalworks Studios (Billy Talent, Trail of Dead), for release in Spring 2007!
