About Mr. I, Gary Q & the Rainbow Singers
Mr. I, Yurgen Ilaender is a well-known music teacher, and children's performer in British Columbia,BC, Canada. The Rainbow Singers are select children who are students of Mr. I's 'Musical Rainbow' program. Gary Q, Gary Huntbatch, is a songwriter, drummer and singer who currently performs in several different bands.
As a song writing team we have been collaborating for about seven years. Along with educational songs for Montessori schools we write songs for children's theatre. We are currently best known for writing most of the songs on the "Multiplication Vacation" CD/DVD by "Googol Power". The album won an "Indie" in 2005

About Gary

I was borne in Wolverhampton England in 1944. I had a happy childhood with an early interest in music. I loved to sing and perform as a child. I began drum lessons when I was twelve and was performing in a band at 15. I now live in Abbotsford British Columbia Canada with my wife Jessica.
My first claim to fame was in the 1960âs. If you were enjoying the music of the day and lived in the Midlands or the south of England you may remember a band called âSteve Bret and the Mavericks. We had our own TV show âFor Teenagers Onlyâ featuring guests like âThe Dave Clark Fiveâ and Denny Laine and the Diplomatsâ. In the band were Steve Bret, Johnny Millington, the now world famous jazz bass player Dave Holland and myself on the drums. I now live in British Columbia Canada where I play in the folk band â1066â, a blues band âDeceptionâ , A swing jazzband with me sing the standards and a nameless classic rock band. Together we also produce a series of childrens educational CDs called âFacts and Funâ. In the fun part of our CDs I take on the character of a crazy Englishman whoâs always up to something silly. We recently wrote songs for a CD on teaching children how to multiply (soon to be DVD) calledGoogol Power.
