Is it experimental music or a soundtrack for a film or performance not yet made? Only the listener can decide. What is certain is that the latest project in the Shadows of Existence series has reached a creative plateau. Completed in less than six months, the latest album âA Thousand Masksâ began in August 2006 as studio experimentation with all new equipment and untested instrumentation. âWe liked what we heard right away and ran with it. Quite frankly we would like to repeat this one, but we are not sure if it can be done. Our creative goals have always been somewhat obscure, but we certainly didnât expect this result. The influences on âA Thousand Masksâ are difficult to isolate. During the period of recording, we had been listening to an unusual mix of Section 25, Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Metric, Githead, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, My Dad is Dead, Kwan, Animal Alpha, Vitalic, Bjork, and Sean Callery (24)."

Shadows of Existence is an evolving series of electronic sound and graphic art projects produced by an anonymous author, composer, musician, and artist and featuring guest contributing artists and musicians. A new series of projects entitled âTAOMâ is in the works. The âTAOMâ series will be harder edged and feature more aggressive electronic orchestration. Watch for the first âTAOMâ release in December 2007.

Filming of the videos for "A Thousand Masks" is scheduled to begin later this month. Watch for the first video releases during the month of June on YouTube.com.
