Details:
This is a once in a lifetime CD/DVD. This project is a 49 minute DVD about the takeover of Wounded Knee in 1973. The DVD consist of actual video shot at Wounded Knee and photos taken before and after of the 71 day seige by AIM (American Indian Movement). My wife, Ann Marie, was born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and lived there until age 7. Her grandparents, Clive and Agness Gildersleeve and her mother, JoAnn Gildersleeve owned the Wounded Knee Trading Post from 1929 to it's destruction in 1973. This DVD explains with video and photos the "Untold Tragedy Of Wounded Knee". The purpose of this DVD/CD is to set the record straight and to tell and show the "Untold Story Of Wounded Knee". You will see actual photos and video of the Wounded Knee Trading Post, the Museum, and the Church and Long Grave located on the hills of South Dakota along with the characters who held these people hostage and the hostages themselves. Three of the 16 songs were written especially for this production and the others are noticeably characteristic of the writing and smooth voice of Bobby Joe Swilley. The country soothing and romance of the lyrics combined with the instrumentation of pure country/blues musicians is a rare blend that is captured in this production. Quite simply, this is rare indeed. You won't hear this anywhere else. This is by far the best project Bobby Joe has done and it's obvious he put his heart and soul into the "UNTOLD TRAGEDY OF WOUNDED KNEE".
