Punk/Rock: heavy, loud & obnoxious. Just like itâs supposed to be.
12 MP3 Songs
METAL/PUNK: American Punk, METAL/PUNK: Punk Metal
Details:
65 million years of human evolution have led to this.
War. Terrorism. Genocide. Poverty. Social injustice. Corporate scandal. Paris Hilton.
Now, Dirty DNA.
Out of the hot and humid depths of the undisputed bats**t-craziest place in the known universe -- Florida -- comes a megaton blast of twisted punk fury like nothing you've seen or heard. Dirty DNA isn't so much a band as it is an amalgam of some of the biggest names in South Florida's powerful rock scene -- from signed and successful bands like Collapsing Lungs/L.U.N.G.S., Crease, Amboog-A-Lard...
...And the Mary Tyler Whores.
That's who Frank Cassara and Rob Deuce left in March of 2006 to begin writing their own material. They wanted to form a new band -- something monstrous and powerful -- so they enlisted the help of Fritz Von Winkle, Greg Poncier and George Kokkoris to complete their lineup. Right off the bat, they all realized what they'd inadvertently put together: A South Florida supergroup. Each member of the band they now called Dirty DNA had already known fame, major radio airplay, and time on the road playing to big crowds -- but something about this group was different.
Something about the raw power of the music and the statement they were making together felt good -- like full-on ecstasy-trip, irresponsible-first-time-sex good.
They took to the studio and the result is "Skeleton Sex Scandal," a brutal yet melodic gut-punch that attacks you like a cougar defending its young.
It's visceral. It's aggressive. It's sexy. It's political. It's passionate. It's funny. It's intimidating. It's caustic. It features a guest performance from former Anthrax guitarist Danny Spitz.
It makes a listener want to get up and throw something heavy through a plate glass window.
Or maybe just jump into the pit and never come out.
Dirty DNA takes what pop culture has given them -- has given US -- and spits it back out in a way few modern bands have done. They've picked up the torch that was first lit by guys like Iggy Pop and David Bowie, then handed-off to guys like Henry Rollins and Rob Zombie, and they're running it full-speed into the next generation.
Into a new generation of kids who are beaten-down, f**ked-up, worn-out, and ready to fight back.
Punk has just evolved.
Say hello to the next big thing -- with the way the world is going, maybe the LAST big thing.
Dirty DNA: Now more than ever... f**ker.
