Producer influences include Dr. Dre, the Neptunes, Quincy Jones, and Maurice White. Common Folk has worked with Slumpmasters, Ordained in Lyrics, Grammy Award winning Madukwu Chinwah, and Rock Baby who was featured on HBO's Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam .
