COUNTRY: Country Rock, FOLK: Folk Pop

Details:
There is one county in the state of Minnesota that does not have a stop light. There, you will find a few small bars with all it's regulars. Everyone knows everyone by name. The sun rises each morning, and like a painted turtle, life starts in Dodge County.
When the work day is done, many people can be found at Digger's bar or Pete's Re-peat in Kasson, the Mantorville Saloon, or Harold's Club in Dodge Center. Inside of each of these establishments, the jukebox shows a common bond between them.
"Small Town Places" is the ending acoustic track on the LP with the same name. The lyrics speak of the beauty in small town life and it's people. It's sung by a man who has gone out around much the world (almost as a requisite) to be able to witness the beautiful quirks of this Dodge way living.
The young songwriter, Ben Bigelow, seems to write from his heart in an almost journal like endeavor into epistemology. It's the type of songs that you may want to sink your teeth into...
Sample "Black Eyes" as the writer relates himself and the people he's surrounded by in his town. There, people live a life, almost out of default, hanging out at the local pubs. They get into trouble, but deep down, they are like everyone else. They are searching for a goodness or love. All the while their habits hold them back. Hence, Southern Minnesot roots music. Almost a form of blues, some of the songs may help us to feel good about who and what we are.
Ryan Johnson, Scott Pitzenberger, Tylar Twite, Dan Haugh, and Ben put pieces of themselves in this album. Enjoy.
