The origin of this work comes from the heart of his lifeâs experience, observations, hopes, dreams and overall concerns for what ails us as a civilized society. Mr. Ali evolved and is a gritty survivor of the crime filled streets of St. Louis Missouri. He is the oldest of five and was reared by his hard working mother. She was plague with debilitating arthritis as a young woman and kept the family together as best she could. His father was an imprisoned Muslim and street hustler that maintained virtually no family contact. Determined to over come the inner city statistical odds, of poverty, jail time and early death, Asim Ali refused to give up!

And although St. Louis city will always be considered home for Asim, he credits much to living in the The Bronx, Harlem and Queens New York with helping shape his artistic direction. 130th and St. Nicholas in Harlem New York is where he recorded his first demo. Asim never looked back.
