Atrophy was formed in January 2004 in Orlando Florida. The Band writes and performs all original music with the sincerity of Post-Punk Alternative and the energy of Modern Hardcore. Atrophy will play anywhere for any amount of people. They are a band striving to share their music. Performing live is extremely important to Atrophy. Nothing is better than being able to connect with the crowd and really showing them how much the music means to you. People understand where you are coming from if you play from the heart. Atrophy consists of three members: Eric Joseph, age 25 of Tampa, Florida. Eric plays lead guitar and is the frontman for the dynamic trio. He has been playing in bands since he was a teenager, creating his first project, Euphemisim in the mid 90's. James "Pigpen" Hudson, age 29 of Charlotte, North Carolina. James plays bass guitar for Atrophy. He is also a veteran musician playing in many electronic and alternative rock bands since the 90's. Mike Swanzy, age 28 of Virginia/D.C area. Mike is the drummer and sample creator for the band. He has been in many bands in the D.C circuit. Atrophy is real and original. Their lyrics and music are powerful and mesmerizing.
