Cosmic Sofa Records was established in Toronto Canada by veteran producers Sfumato, Que, and K-Boogie. The mandate was to create a label that produces progressive thinking soul music, which the artist commonly refer to as "urbonica."

The inaugural release of the label, "Cosmic Sofa Records Presents Elements Volume One: AIR" showcased the superb production talents of the co-founders. They used the theme of "air" as a back drop for composing an assortment of sounds, which represented "air" in its various manifestations. With Sfumato's thick ambient beats, Que's smooth transient style, and K-Boogie's funky up tempo breaks; the trio were able to craft a sweet sounding foundation for the label to build upon. The latest projects from Cosmic Sofa feature the exquisite vocal talents of SCH, who brings a rich and raw sounding presence. While other vocalists include the soft sensual voice of Nafra, and the powerful awe inspiring words of dub poet RaSir.

The Cosmic Sofa artists are currently in the studio preparing for the label's next release, which is sure to pick up where "Elements Volume One: Air" left off, and then take you way beyond.
