Description:
Acoustic folk/rock, a few protest songs, and a little country.
10 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Political, COUNTRY: Alt-Country
Details:
CC Carter is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, and his first musical memories are of listening to old Jimmy Rodgers records and early Elvis Presley. Delta Blues, Country, and then Motown were all staples of his music loving family and of his formative years. Profoundly influenced by the songs of Bob Dylan, CC began learning the guitar and writing original songs at age 15. After many years of being a âback porchâ musician, living and working in various towns and cities from Los Angeles to New Orleans, CC moved to the Sarasota area of southwest Florida. Immersing himself in the local art scene, he met guitarist Phil Asinc and bassist, Larry Rawlins, Jr. With drummer Lou Holiday they formed the band Culture of Fear. Culture of Fear performed only original mostly political protest rock music in various live venues around greater Tampa Bay. CC was lyricist and singer for the band. After Phil Asinc moved to Atlanta, the band dissolved and CC began writing and performing Folk/Americana music solo.
CC Carter released his first solo CD, Kill Your Television, in January 2007. The singles, Letter from Iraq and Beltane Song, have been since receiving airplay on independent radio. He is currently finishing his next release, Hippie from Mississippi. CC can be reached at cccartermusic@hotmail.com.
