About Cheryl...
At 16 years of age, Cheryl started playing in local rock bands in her hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota. She got her first steady singing job at CC Richards Supper Club in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, when she was 23.
Cheryl moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, in June of 1987. Before settling in South Carolina, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, singing and entertaining at nightclubs and hotels. She has entertained audiences in the Southeast for more than 17 years... from the Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia, to St. Georges Restaurant in Sarasota, Florida.
After signing with Comstock Records in 1986, Cheryl recorded several of her own compositions in Nashville, charting the Top Ten Peaugot Playbill in England and the Top 35 Independent Country Charts in the United States. She was co-owner of The Casablanca Piano Bar from 1988 to 1991, before opening her own establishment called Cheryl's Le Cabaret Piano Bar in June of 1991.
After selling Le Cabaret in October 2001, Cheryl took time off to travel and attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in the field of Film and Video Production. Cheryl has worked in production at WHHI-TV Channel 3 on Hilton Head for nearly four years, taping and editing shows, conducting interviews, and on-location shoots.
Cheryl occasionally sings with Fred Nimmer's Swingtime Orchestra (now Jon Miller's Swingtime Orchestra) and she continues to write and record her own compositions. The CDs and Cassettes section will give you an opportunity to sample and purchase some of her moving music.
Cherylâs repertoire includes contemporary standards, light jazz, swing, shag, country and dance.
Cheryl entertained weekly at the Marriott Oceanfront Hotel in Palmetto Dunes Plantation on Hilton Head Island, SC, for the past several years. She enjoyed the Hotel guests as well as the 'regulars' from the island who came into the lounge for some fun, dancing, drinks, food, or conversation.
