Details:
I was born in London, England in 1962 and now live in Staffordshire, England, working as a truck driver. I enjoy listening to a wide genre of music, but feel that life in general has probably had more influence on my song writing.
I wrote this song, âMotherâ, in June, 2007 approximately a year after my own mother died. The affect this had on my brothers and sisters surprised me, as weâve always been a close family. It broke us all up and Iâve had no contact with them since, maybe some readers can relate to this. The initial idea of the song was to record it and then give out copies to my brothers and sisters, hoping that we could all be a family again. I also gave copies out to friends to listen to and was quite surprised at the positive feedback I received. This is when I decided to release it as a single and signed up with CD Baby as my choice of distributor.
I hope that you all enjoy listening to this song and keep coming back to CD Baby to check out my new releases.
Due to the cost of producing a CD single, this is only available as a digital download from Apple iTunes (there is a link on the left) and other digital outlets.
MOTHER (Lyrics)
Mother, you kept me safe and warm
Mother, you protected me from harm
Mother, you grew me to be strong
And Mother, you taught me right from wrong
Mother, growing-up was such a test
Mother, you eased my life from stress
Mother, you taught me to respect
And Mother, you took others at their best
Mother, you were my rock my giving friend
Mother, youâre wisdom saved my end
Mother, you left us in a mess
And Mother, I missed you in your last dress
Brothers, Sisters, why donât we all be friends
Motherâs gone now, her time is at an end
She kept us all together, she was our go between
But now sheâs gone, friends weâll never be
But to remember her, weâd better try to be
