Crush33: Jimmy Lytle, 29+yr son of a coal-miner, bible college dropout, recovering sex-addict, skinny, long-haired, bohemian artist. Influences ranging from The Monkees to Nine Inch Nails, including The Cure, Ween, and a host of other strange coolness. Compared in style to Pink Floyd(+Syd Barrett), Beatles, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Primal Scream. Played the Missoula punk-rock bar scene in the mid-90's. He with his bands 'The Experiment' and later 'Puzzle' actually probably belonged in some late-night incense-filled space-off bohemian coffeehouse -of which were in non-existance in all of Montana America in that time-period. They did somewhat hone their dreamy-weird style with a jagged rasp of such comrade bands in such bars as the infamous 'Jay's Upstairs'(RIP).
Currently, as Crush33, with two co-horts Christina Homer (moral support and musical 'audience' ear, as well as a talented percussionist) along for the ride with guitarist/keyboardist David Flynn (Yes the same guy who's been guest on 'After Dark' radio), have mixed and mashed in the dim glows of the Dragon Den studio as three mad scientists alchemizing. They two with Jimmy plying the sticks off the outer layers of the conventional lyrical Go-Go cage..to reveal a squishy pink pulsating throb of a surreal realness. Lyrics gleaned in a gothic flowerchild-lost hopefulness, haunting melodies, a George-Harrison-esque setting oft upon his loosely-executed electric guitar, blended with a sortof jungle-y techno groove-y bass and drums, melted together with church-organ-y pan-pipe-y sweet weirdness, and seasoned with exotic far-eastern synth-and-real stringed things..(with a few birds and tree-frogs thrown into the mystic mix).. all lend a hand to a coo-el night with a few friends in a candle-lit room.
