Don Everett Pearce got started in San Diego's energetic coffeehouse scene of the early 90s and then moved on to New York City in the late 90s. "Brutish Little Ballet" was recorded in Brooklyn and the imagery of NYC is very much alive in tracks like "Backseat" and "Stone Rollin' Blues."
The live-in-the-studio approach tips a hat to Dylan and "Let it Bleed"-era Rolling Stones, with a post-punk-songwriter update via Paul Westerberg.
He now lives in Los Angeles.
