Details:
Duncan McLauchlan is a talented Scottish singer / songwriter, currently living in Roswell, Georgia. His music plays sensitively and passionately with lifeâs journeys, joys and mysteries. It carries simple, strong sentiments of peace, humor and love.
The blend of contemporary and Celtic folk music on âThe Road To Destinyâ displays Duncâs unique talents of storytelling, singing and multi-instrumental musicianship. All of the songs and tunes on the album were written, sung, played and produced by Duncan, his only outside help being provided by fiddler John Richey on one track.
Dunc sings and plays his songs with a passion which complements his clever and sensitive, poetic style. His delicate lyrics weave a colorful tapestry on the back-cloth of his tunes and rhythms, evoking a range of emotions from laughter to tears and back again. He employs a variety of instruments and his natural Scottish accent to produce a solid, yet atmospheric feel in his music. His musical armory includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass, bohdran, mandolins, banjo, keyboards, and various percussion instruments.
Dunc started to play guitar at the age of 11 years old. At 12, he took up piano. By 13, he was composing his own music and at 14 made his first appearances in local folk music clubs, sharing stages with some of the best of Scottish folk musicians. At 15, he changed his allegiance to rock music and went on to perform as lead guitarist and vocalist in a number of Scottish bands for many years, making a number of international appearances along the way.
After many years of worldwide travel, pursuing his career, Dunc moved to the USA in 1996 and returned to composing and playing his own unique brand of music.
âThe Road To Destinyâ is getting significant airplay on folk radio programs across the USA and internationally and has received positive publicity and reviews in the folk music press.
