During the last five years, Iâve given the Erotics every accolade imaginable. This underground, critically acclaimed band from Albany, NY has always rocked my world. But, this time around the Erotics just bring it to a new level of brilliance. Their new CD is a bold and abrasive 14 track sleaze rock tour de force, permeated with snotty lyrics, slamming guitars and a BIG Fuck You attitude.

Band leader Mike Trash has perfected his ability to write the perfect fist pumping glam/punk anthem. With the addition of new guitarist Rachel Toxic, the Erotics are again a quartet, and a much more focused and ferocious Rock nâ Roll Killing Machine.

The highlights of this 14 track 47:56 minutes CD areâ¦. well, how about every fucking raucous moment.

The CD starts off with a short flamenco flavored acoustic guitar run that Trash somehow makes sound sleazy. Itâs just the calm before the storm.

The finely crafted hard hitting âYour Mommy is a Monsterâ follows with a big ass hook and catchy gang bang chorus. The title track, â30 Seconds Over Youâ has a classic Kiss meets vintage Alice Cooper sound. âDonât Make Me Hate Youâ has a retro, stoner rock edge with a âParanoidâ style riff that would make any pothead raise their bong in approval.

Guitar stars Trash and Toxic give us some ultra cool double lead ala Thin Lizzy on "Where the Action Never Stops" and "Sunshine." They also trade off Ace Frehley type leads on "Among The Nasty," "Ain't Your Fixâ and âTeenage Drag Queen.â

The infectious âBaby Rock Outâ could be the best song that Trash has ever penned. It may also be the most finely crafted sleaze rock anthem ever. Itâs the type of track that Johnny Thunders should have written.

Now that The Erotics have a label behind them, Overit records and major distribution through Ryco/Warner this band may finally reap their just rewards.

With each new release, The Erotics always, without fail, remind me why I love sleazy flash metal, why songs about sex, action, degeneration, chicks, addiction, and teenage drag queens are the best kind of songs, and why rock nâ roll will never die. Unless Mike Trash and company decide theyâre gonna blow it up once and for all, which they come dangerously close to doing on 30 Seconds Over You. But they donât thankfully, and instead The Erotics further cement themselves as the unsung heroes of the underground rock and glam scene, their arena rock ethos of larger than life confetti storms and snarly punk rock audacity a not-so-subtle reminder to rock out, baby, with your cock out.

Embarking on their first European tour with dates across England and Italy coupled with a cross country jaunt from New York to Hollywood, the band continued to build on a growing groundswell of support that looks to push the band into the next level of notoriety and infamy.
