Gary Kline has taught Voice and Musical Theater Workshop at Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama since 1989. His Singing Career started in Opera/Classical Music, but soon switched to Cabaret and Musical Theater.

He's sung leads in Regional Theaters in such Musicals as EVITA, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, 1776, THE CIVIL WAR, MAN OF LA MANCHA, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, among others.

He was soloist with Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Pops twice, as well as other the Wheeling Symphony and the Pittsburgh Opera. His Cabaret Act has been seen at Danny's Skylight Room and The Duplex Cabaret Theater in NYC, as well as the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret Theater in Pittsburgh as well as many other venues.

He continues to teach at the School of Drama at CMU, as well as Ann Reinking's BROADWAY THEATER PROJECT in FL. and Marsha Mason's THE FLYING SWAN Acting Program in CT.

MY NOTES:

MY first solo CD, LUCKY, contains Duets with famed singer MARGARET WHITING in a unique blend of Send In The Clowns and This Nearly Was Mine. Wow- I was blown away when Margaret said "yes" to my request to record! Margaret is truly an inspiration for me. Her honest, straight-forward and even humorous delivery of "Clowns", even while leaning on a cane in a NY Recording Studio, is captured beautifully here. It was a moving experience, and we finished it with tears in my eyes- for good reason

BILLY PORTER has been a friend and "boo" for a long time.
We were fortunate enough to do THE CIVIL WAR together, and really bonded with our similar backgrounds as a Preachers Kid! His amazing voice soars an octave above where I can sing! We're also both alum of CMU...

PATRICK WILSON- this man sings so fantastically- as if being a first-rate Actor isn't enough! (LITTLE CHILDREN, PHANTOM, ANGELS IN AMERICA, etc.) What a terrific man(and proud pappa) he is. His mom is a wonderful Voice Teacher in Florida, and also a fan! This Medley was lots of fun to record with a gorgeous voice like Patrick's!

SALLY MAYES is a ray of Sunshine. Her bright sunny voice is matched by her personality here on this piece composed by Barry Manilow, with lyrics by Johnny Mercer!

JOE NEGRI, from MR. ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD, plays guitar on several tracks. I'm happy to put his original song "I Saw A Robin This Morning" on my CD! What a pal.....

JERRY DANTRY put together these Medleys- they are unique! You won't hear anything like these anywhere else.
He's a one-man orchestra behind the keyboard, and I'm luck to have him as my Music Director.

I'm looking forward to doing my second album. I learned a lot from this, and can't wait to share more with my fans- based mainly in the 'burgh!
